Choose one documented journey and list dated events from your sources. Mark approximate dates as approximate. Leave gaps visible and distinguish a departure report from evidence that a ship actually reached a destination.
Keep the finished note with its date and source material. Return to it when you repeat the exercise, and add what changed rather than replacing the earlier observation.
